What It Is
MonitApp is an computer inventory and tracking application intended to audit hardware components, applications and users accounts installed on the computers over the network.
This
asset management tool will periodically collect your network inventory
information and store it on an excel file, which allow you to check the status
and the change tracking history when you want, without need to wait for a new
network scanning.

MonitApp
allow you to monitoring thousands of parameters if you want.
You can configure what you want in a profile editor but, for your commodity it is already provided with 3 profiles:
base - configured for inventory components like:
Printers, cd-roms, tapes, Processors, Memory, Physical Disks,
Software Patches, Operating systems,applications installed,
Physical Ports, Network Adapters, Modems, Sound Devices, Video Controllers,
etc.
hardware - configured to inventory hardware and firmware components:
Bios, Motherboards, CPUs, Cache, Slots, Bus, Enclosures, Serial Ports,
IDE/SCSI/PCMCIA/USB/1394/Floppy controllers, Onboard devices, Infrared devices,
etc.
config - configured for inventory configurations aspects:
Network configurations (DNSs, WINSs, DHCPs, IPs, MAC Addresses, Host names, IP Gateway, etc)
Network Login Profiles (Account Expires, Bad Password Count, Last Logon, Password Age, etc)
Logical Disks (Capacity, Free space, Serial Number, Disk Type, etc), Logical Memory
System Drivers, Startup programs, Services, Registries,
Display/Monitor Configuration, Desktop (screen savers, wallpapers, etc)
PageFile characteristics,
Network shares, Environment variables
etc.
And if you don't want some of them you can suppress it. Or if you prefer others characteristics you just need to mark the correspondent checkbox.
As the output is an excel file you can do almost anything with that data. Unlike other applications you are not limited to the options provide in the user interface (selection, reorder, calculation, pivot tables, etc).
Powerful
With MonitApp you can check:
If a computer has been changed and when
ex: a cd-rom has disappear suddenly, or some undesired application has installed
Which computers have some hardware components (ex: cd-roms)
Which is the hardware configuration (how may memory chips -- SIMMs -- are installed in a computer)
How many computers have service packs installed an which ones.
Where you have incongruities in your network computers (software versions, licenses, etc), which ones needs interventions/upgrades
etc.
It can be used to maintained the knowledge of your network under control; or just to make an It Audit process quickly; or for example after send a PC for repair check if and which components has been changed/removed.
