  • Run Now
    These options only affect the Update Now... operation
    Create Missing Columns
    This instructs MonitApp to create missing columns when it detect a column is necessary to store values got from computers according current profile.
    If uncheck and there are missing columns the correspondent values will be silently discarded
    Ping Target
    When this option is check the computers aren't scanned if a response to pings fails.
    We must uncheck this option in situations where we can't ping computers (ex: a firewall block pings)
    Create Missing Sheets
    This instructs MonitApp to create missing sheets when it detect that a sheet is necessary to store values got from computers according current profile.
    If uncheck and there are missing sheets the correspondent values will be silently discarded
    Allow User to Interact with Excel
    If checked the user can manipulate the excel file while it is updated by MonitApp. Must be used with carefully because it can create deadlock situations (ex: while the user edit a cell)
    Show Excel
    Display the excel file while it is updated by MonitApp. Must be used only for demonstration purposes as it significantly slowdown the process.
    Display Excel Alerts
    If checked the excel display all the alerts and wait until a user action is taken. Must only be used for very specific situations as it block the process
    Verbose Level
    Define the amount of information is printed in log window as the scanning process evaluates.
    A value of zero disables the log. You can put here the value you want but the actual maximum value used by MonitApp is 7.
  • Apply Profile Changes
    These options are used only when the user apply profile changes to excel files.
    Show Excel
    Display the excel file while it is updated by MonitApp. Must be used only for demonstration purposes as it significantly slowdown the process.
    Display Excel Alerts
    If checked the excel display all the alerts and wait until a user action is taken. Must only be used for very specific situations as it block the process

  • Schedule Tasks
    These options are applied only when the MonitApp schedule tasks run

  • General option are used for all operations/situations
    Number of Retries
    Number of retries to values. For overload network/computer or when some WMI classes associated with slow hardware (ex: tapes, diskett drives, etc) don't return anything you must increment this number
    Ping Timeout
    This value represents the amount of time MonitApp wait for a ping response. It is only used if Ping Target is checked. In a overload network must be incremented.
    Timeout
    The amount of time MonitApp waits to values. For overload network/computer or when some WMI classes associated with slow hardware (ex: tapes, diskette drives, etc) don't return anything you must increment this number.
  • These options are used only when a new file is created.

    We don't recommend to check Create Missing Sheets/Columns options because it significantly slowdown the process of file creation.
    But if you leave these options uncheck you must check the same options in Run Now and/or in Schedule Tasks panels. Otherwise when the MonitApp got values from target computers it will discard them silently.
